The 2018 and 2019 Football Schedules were released by the IHSAA on Wednesday Morning. Previously the six team districts were released and now the dates, sites and non district opponents have been announced.
DCG will open the season with a grueling non district schedule comprised of teams that have recorded a 108-29 record over the past three seasons. On Friday August 24 the Mustangs open play against the Pella Dutch at DCG Stadium. The following week another LHC rival, Norwalk comes to town. DCG then travels to Ballard on September 7 with Glenwood coming to Central Iowa on September 14 to close out the non district schedule.
District play begins on September 21 as DCG travels to Perry. Humboldt will be the Homecoming opponent on September 28 followed by a trip to Boone on October 5. Webster City comes to DCG for the final home game on Ocotber 12. The Mustangs close out the regular season on October 19 when they travel to Carroll to play in the their new stadium.
The schedule reverses in 2019 putting DCG on the road five times.
With the release of the schedule comes the end of the long time rivalry between Dallas Center-Grimes and ADM. The series ran over 100 years.
